New Age Technologies is a spin off of a compliance testing laboratory. In the early days of Surface Mount Technology, certification testing of component compliance to the reflow temperatures required for SMT was our main focus. At that time, the early 1980’s, there were no Contract Manufacturers who were targeting the emerging technology of SMT. New Age’s Contract Manufacturing services began as a service product tailored to clients who were venturing out in to this new technology. Process Development and Component Engineering services evolved into a full service NPI capability. At out inception, our clients were primarily the Fortune 100 and the Defense Industry. In 1988, New Age became an independent company and branched out into higher volume manufacturing. Our primary focus at that time was bringing products from prototype to production—with a manufacturing capability that was geared towards the regional market in New England—primarily high-mix, low volume manufacturing. Through the 1990’s New Age continued to add capabilities and the bulk of our customers took advantage of our Turnkey and Box Build capability. While we continued to service the low volume and consignment markets, the majority of our clients had shifted to higher volume turnkey manufacturing. Over the last few years, we have made significant capital investments in equipment and facilities and have formed strategic partnerships that enable us to service a wider volume range. The classic, New England Mill Building we started out in has given way to a modern, state-of-the-art 100,00 square foot manufacturing facility. With the addition of Design to our service product offering, we have positioned ourselves to take advantage of the rapidly growing demand for ODM.
